Party Decorations

Decorations isn’t that hard, as long as you are not thinking of the extravagant ones. The main component for decorations has always been: Balloons. Yes, balloons has always been the backbone for any decorations. If your child is scared of balloons, the alternative is to have colored streamers.

The scale of decorations is really dependent on the budget that you have set. Right now, I’ll assume 3 sets of budgets:

• $100 - $150 range
• $50 range
• $10 range

Yes, you can have nice decorations for just $10! Let me explain the various decorations options you can have and I’ll put up some examples to illustrate my points.

$100 - $150 Range Decorations

At this range of decorations, you can have helium balloons. If you have a low ceiling, the easiest way is to order 100 helium balloons (complete with streamers) and have them hanging at your ceiling.

From the above pictures, you will know that it looks pretty good.

If you want to be a little creative, you can create balloon bouquet like the one shown below:

How to create balloon bouquet: Just take 3-4 balloons and tie their streamers together, cut the loose ends and tie that bunch of streamers to a weight. Viola! You’ve got a balloon bouquet that can be used as part of the decorations!

Once you get your helium balloons, add a “Happy Birthday Banner”, run a few streamers and you’ll have a nice decorations!

$50 Range Decorations

At this range, it may not be possible to get Helium balloons. However, you can still use blown balloons.

One nice way is to tie 3 balloons together into a set and stick them to the wall.

Do a couple of the sets, stick them to various locations of the room and it should look good. If you want, add streamers between 2 sets to add to the design.

Add a “Happy Birthday Banner” and you are done!

$10 - $20 Range

What can you do with just $10 - $20? Well, not a lot. This means that you will need to do more work.

With $10, you can get streamer! What you will need are:

1. Colored Streamers
2. Colored Balloons

What you need to do is just run the streamers across the party room ‘strategically’. Blow some colored balloons, leave them on the floor. Yes, leave them on the floor, it does look decent.

Another way to decorate is to tie the balloons to the streamers and hang them up

Looks pretty good for a $10 budget.

If you have extra cash, buy a “Happy Birthday Banner”.

Hiring a Decorations Professional

If you don’t have the time to do it yourself, you can always outsource to the professionals. The professional decorators can cost you at least $200. Be sure to ask what they will be doing for the decorations and, if possible, itemize the various decorations needed.

Sometimes, party planners do come with decorations and if you packaged in the decorations, you can save quite a lot!
